tammy chang

Pilates Instructor

Tammy Chang is a Taiwanese American who came to Oakland by way of growing up in Ohio. She brings over a decade of teaching experience and a broad background in movement, including Capoeira (purple belt), strength training, mat Pilates, myofascial release, and running. Tammy completed her Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training, holds an Aston Fitness certification, and is a certified Nutrition Consultant through Bowman College.

A former elementary school teacher, Tammy later founded her private nutrition practice, The Nourished Belly, and authored two nutrition books through Ulysses Press. Over time, the physical demands of long-term Capoeira training led her toward more sustainable, holistic movement practices. Pilates became a turning point, helping her better understand her own body and support others in finding alignment, strength, and ease. Tammy believes in a compassionate, whole-person approach to longevity that integrates mindful movement, strength, and care from the inside out.
